As a child, I was dreadfully afraid of the dark. There were sounds in the night that would keep me up. And despite a religious upbringing I feared the darkness. But as I grew older, I discovered a fondness for the dark. Horror movies were likely to blame. And despite the terror I felt as a child, I ultimately overcame my fear of the dark.
There is drama to the interplay of lights and shadows in images. It's like closing your eyes and seeing characters emerge from the darkness; like fragmented memories with a story to tell or insight to offer. If you were to close your eyes what might you see?
